Vans and Henry Hollins
Henry Hollins from Punk band Black Flag has cropped up several times in my research. He appeared in the Stecyks documentary about The Zephyr Team. he appears in thrasher in April 1982 wearing vans #36. he appears on Vans TV , using it has a vehicle to raise awarenes about Global issues and raise money.
I think this relationship has added authenticity to Vans the brand in terms of its subcultural roots and also in supporting cultural and global causes.
